54 DAYS | NEW ZEALAND

So a journey to the other side of  the world for like 12 months requires a good preparation. Luckily I already did the most things I had to do, like the ticket -which wasn't easy at all- and bought stuff that I need. Today it was time to say goodbye to my job, which I think was very hard to do. I had a great time there and I worked with such lovely collegues. I promised them to keep them up to date of my adventures in New-Zealand and send them postcards once in a while. Now today I found out that I'm leaving one day earlier then planned. My flight had changed and now I'll fly with China Airlines instead of Cathay Pacific or Singapore Airlines. I have absolutaly no idea what to expect. The first two weeks of my journey I'll stay in Sydney Australia with the group I travel with. I heard Sydney is like New York city, so I'm really curious! The first two weeks consist of surfing, barbecuing, a harbor cruise and many more. After those two weeks I'll continue my journey in Napier New-Zealand with my aunt and uncle. Even my friend thinks about to come visit me for like two weeks. I have so many plans.. extreme sports, discover mother nature, meet lots of new people, but my main goal is to become more self confident, independent and to start a new fresh chapter of my life after all the trouble where I've been trough the last couple of years.. Who knows, maybe I never want to leave that amazing country anymore?!

My return to Amsterdam would be in july, but when I really want to stay there I can change the date for free. That's why I chose an flexible ticket, even if I've to pay a little more for it. My grandma gave me her suitcase of Samsonite -which seems to be a good brand- which she also used for her journeys to New-Zealand. Many of my father's side of the family and my mother's side as well, already has been in Australia. Even my brother and sister. So now it's my turn to let my dream come true. Damn I'm going to miss my boyfriend, family and friends so much.. :(

With love,

HAIR TUTORIAL | LOOSE WAVES

Today I want to show you guys how I make loose wavy curls with hair rollers. As you can see I also write the text in Dutch, just want to see how that works. I'm thinking of making videos, this would be so much easier to do it in Dutch, because it's still difficult to express myself in English. Maybe when I've been to New-Zealand I can do English video's too!  I don't use this hair styling method really often. I always use my ISO straightener to make curls of waves.. I'm kind of a klutz so working with all those rollers doesn't really work for me, but today I tried it and I love to show you the result. I use a Carmen softsetter Quick & Big curl curling set. The good thing about this curling set is that the curlers are covered with velvet. This is so much better then just a regular curler. Man I've got so many styling tools. Yesterday I found another wireless straightener, but when I tried it the thing started to make a hard and weird noise which I think is no good at all. But anyways, step 1 till 7 to make big loose waves.

Step 1: put off any hairbands/clips whatever before brushing your hair.

Step 2: Brush your hair thoroughly, from the bottom till the top. Always begin at the bottom to prevent any tangles in your hair.

Step 3: Divide your hair in two sections and tie the top portion with a clip or hairband.

Step 4: Grab a hair strand (depends on the size of the curlers) and roll the curler into your hair. Watch at the rotation, because you can create an inward or outward curl.

Step 5: Leave in the curlers for about ten minutes (depends on the thickness of your hair) and then put the curlers off. Now you've done the underlayer, now do the same thing with the upperlayer.

Step 6: For the upperlayer I used some smaller curlers, to create a bit of volume on top. Leave in the curlers for like 10 minutes, then remove them carefully.

Step 6: First the curls will look a bit weird, but when you get your hands through your hair a few times the curls will become a bit more loose and wavy.

Hope you guys liked it. As I already said I'm thinking of make some videos too. First in Dutch, in New-Zealand I can start with making English ones to practice. Let me know what you think!

With love,

DAILY MAKEUP ROUTINE

Today I'm going to show you how I do my daily make up. Mostly I use natural colors, I love the look of a natural fresh skin and dark eyes. I also will show you the stuff I used.

Step 1: I clean my face with Dove soft wash, which protects your skin. '

Step 2: Mostly I don't use that much foundation, only at the problem area. For me that's my chin, nose, and under my eyes. As you can see I've pretty dark edges around my eyes because I'm tired lately, so I camouflage it with foundation. Also my nose is always red.. so I really have to apply foundation on that spot because otherwise it'll stand out so much. This time I used Bourjois healthy mix foundation N52: vanilla. It's actually my sisters, but it's also the right color for me. I also use a foundation brush, which works really well for me. With this brush you can reach spots like under your eyes. The rest of the foundation I wipe out with the biggest brush.

Step 3:  My face after applying the Bourjois foundation.

Step 4: For additional results I use a mineralize foundation powder of MAC, shade 'light and apply it all over my face and neck. It's helps to camouflage dilated pores and red areas on your face. I also use a big powder brush of H&M.

Step 5:  My face after applying the mineralize powder.

Step 6: After the foundation and powder, it's time for blush. I use the MAC mineralize blush warm soul. It's just gives you that healthy and fresh look. I use a regular blush brush.

Step 7: Sometimes I apply just a little foundation on my lips. Just because I love the natural look. Don't put up too much, or a lighter color! Then it looks like you're not feeling well or something, and that's not our intention!

Step 8: To create that extra natural fresh look, I use the MAC creme d'nude lipstick. It's creamy and shiny and it even smells great.

Step 9: I always curl my lashes with an eyelash curler. If I don't use it, my lashes focus forward and it looks like they're really short. I want to create big dark eyelashes, so this eyelash curler is necessary! Curl your eyelashes before applying eyeliner.

Step 10: Now I can start with the eyes. I love eyeliner, and I love dark eyes. I use the Maybelline Lasting drama 24h gel eyeliner. It works really well, although it's not that black as eyeliners I used before.

Step 11: So now it's time for mascara. I always use two or three layers of mascara. As I already said, I love the big dark eyeslook. I use the Maybelline one by one volum' express, satin black mascara. I'm really happy with this one, it works great and I highly reccomend it.

Step 12: layer one

Step 13: layer two

Step 14: layer three

Step 15: Now remove the mascara above your eyes of your skin, if it's there. Otherwise it looks messy and revulsive of the rest of your makeup.

Step 16: Last but not least I darken my eyebrows a bit. I also want to touch up the shape so that it looks much better. I never darken my eyebrows too much, because I've got quite blonde hair.

So, that's it actually, nothing more. When my friends and I are going out I use a little more make-up as usual, and sometimes I use other colors of blush and lipstick, but this is pretty much the daily look. I still want to buy some heavy pinkish colors of MAC lipstick, but we'll see. First I have to save some money for New-Zealand. Hope you guys liked it, tell me what you think! I love to see all of your daily make up routine stuff too!

With love,

GEL NAILS | NAIL ART

As my friend started a new hobby as a nail stylist, of course, I was her guinea pig.
Because it was only her second time doing gel nails, the nails became a bit lumpy bumpy. I didn't care, I thought she did a great job as she is just a beginner! Still I decided to pimp them up a little bit, so I can practice doing nail art. I love being creative, but often I'm just too lazy to sit down and draw something. I bought some nail polish and nail accessories at a local store. First I wanted to buy Essie nail polish, but I decided to start with some cheaper stuff of a Dutch brand. There are so many gorgeous nail art inspirations on the Internet. At here for example, on Wehearit.com.

This was only my first time doing nail art, so I'm pretty happy with the result! As you can see the nails are bumpy, but my mother just said that she'll buy me some new gel nails at a professional nail stylist as a present, so I can practice on some gorgeous nails!
I'll do some more posts about my 'creations', and when I have my new gel nails I'll definitely show you them!

DYED HAIR | JOHN FRIEDA NATURAL LIGHT BLONDE

Hey sweeties,

This week I finally dyed my hair again. It wasn't really necessary , it was just the outgrowth of my hair which I had to do. Anddd.. I'm seeking for reasons to dye my hair again.. When I went to the drugstore with my sister who wanted to buy hair dye, I saw the John Frieda hair dyes were on sale. First I doubted whether I should do it or not. Basically my hair already was natural light blonde, so its not a dramatic change or something. I just feel fresh again, and the hairdresser has cut the dead hairends of my hair, so yeah, I feel fresh right now.

As you can see nothing really changed, only the color underneath became a bit blonder.
I'm really happy with the John Frieda hair dye. I have to say, I never bought hair dye from the drugstore after my hair became dry, dull and sluggish. But I'm satisfied with John Frieda and I heard lots of positive reactions about this brand. The box contains -next to the hair dye itself- a lovely conditioner, which makes your hair feel soft and shiny. But what I'm the most happy with, is the natural look. This hair dye doesn't make your hair look fake and whole-colored. I still can see the lowlights trough my hair. The foam isnt that foamy

What do you think about the John Frieda hair dye?

SMALL TINY POST

Hey lovelys,

So again I'm not that active on my blog, because I work almost everyday. Today I went to my manager to ask him if I could have a week off. I feel so overtired and overwrought lately, I never had time to process some stuff I've been trough the last couple of years. He understood, and now I finally can take some rest.. no migraine anymore, I hope! So yesterday my friend practiced her new hobby on me: gel nails. She really has some talent, this was only her second time. Oh, and I finally bought a new mobile: the Samsung galaxy S3. It's perfect for me; the big screen and the white color. I love Samsung.
I can't believe I can download apps again! My previous mobile -which was the HTC Legend- could only handle Whatsapp, and that's it. Now can make beautiful HD pictures and videos of New-Zealand. And beauty products, of course. I'm still going to do a review about my M.A.C mineralize blush, the Samsung galaxy S3 and I'll show you my new nails.
But first, I'm going to buy a cover for my phone and relax, because that's the only thing I highly need right now.
